Scholarship Program for Best O/L Student in the College

The ACOBAWC annual scholarship at Ananda college is funded by the interest from a fixed deposit in Peoples Bank of Sri Lanka.  The scholarship that paid money for the student with best O/L results.  Rs. 30,000 first year and Rs. 40,000 for the second year. This would result in two annual scholarships totaling of Rs. 70,000.00.

The main ACOBA in Sri Lanka was responsible of selecting the student in the past years and from this year, 85 group of OBA is managing this scholarship together with ACOBAWC.

This year we paid following payments:

Rukshan Siriwardena (Best O/L result in 2014) – RS. 40,000.00 – Follow-up Payment

Navindu Amajith (Best O/L result in 2015) – RS. 30,000.00

This project was a very successful project. This project managed in Sri Lanka by OBA 85’ group. Ceremony held at Kularatne Hall, on April 05^th 2017. ACOBAWC Member, Ananda Mahinkanda attend the event. Photographs of the event were distributed among the members. Thank you for the Project Chairman Nalaka and his Committee, OBA 85’ Group and Parakrama Rajasinghe (Lucky’s Brother) for organizing the event.

• Six best students in academic order of merit from grade 5 thru 9. (Approximately 26 scholarships – approx. $6,555/- per year) – list of this year recipient is attached.

This was the highest scholarship ever given to college students. Going forward, this will be an annual project for ACOBAWC.
