RECOGNITION DINNER FOR FORMER PRINCIPAL MR. KUDALIGAMA

Recognition Dinner for Former Principal Mr. Kudaligama, April 6, 2014

Colonel V. S. Kudaligama, a distinguished educator, held the esteemed position of Principal at Ananda College from 1982 to 1989, and his tenure left an indelible mark on the institution’s history. Under his visionary leadership, the school proudly launched its inaugural ‘Colours Night’—a vibrant and joyous celebration that ignited school spirit and camaraderie among students and staff alike.

The Centenary celebrations were a spectacular event, beautifully orchestrated through the collaborative efforts of the Old Boys’ Association, devoted parents, and loyal friends of the school. This grand occasion not only honored the rich heritage of Ananda College but also united generations in a shared love and pride for their alma mater.

On April 6, 2014, in the charming city of Irvine, California, members of the ACOBA-WC gathered for a warm and memorable reunion, where they had the unique opportunity to connect with Mr. Kudaligama at a delightful dinner hosted by President Elect Nalaka Gunawardana. With over twenty attendees, the evening buzzed with nostalgia and camaraderie, filled with laughter and shared stories.

A particularly poignant moment of the gathering was when Dr. Wije Watugala, the President of ACOBA-WC, graciously presented Mr. Kudaligama with a beautifully crafted trophy. This heartfelt gesture honored his unwavering dedication and profound contributions to Ananda College, symbolizing the deep respect and admiration held for him by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
