ACOBAWC Annual Picnic 2022
The Ananda College Old Boys’ Association – West Coast, USA, held its annual picnic on September 11, 2022, at Irvine Regional Park in Irvine, California. Approximately 75 members and their families attended the event.
Members, along with the ladies, took the lead in organizing the gathering. The organizing committee, which included Ganesh Perusinghe, Rahim Mantara, Rakshita Dissanayake, Dilash De Silva, Nalin Kulasooriya, Manjula Vithana, Nalaka Gunawardane, Pradeep Gunaratne, and the President, Lucky, arranged the event to promote camaraderie among members and their families. Several activities were planned, including a cornhole toss for families and children, a cricket match, balloon contests, and a piñata contest for children. Attendees enjoyed snacks and a festive lunch amid the serene surroundings of Irvine Regional Park.
As this event coincided with September 11, participants took a moment of silence to remember those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Families enjoyed a lively cornhole toss competition, which offered fun and friendly rivalry, while the children delighted in organized games like balloon contests and a colorful piñata event that had them laughing and cheering as they took turns trying to break open the treats. Additionally, a spirited cricket match provided a perfect opportunity for members to showcase their skills and had everyone cheering on their teams.
