Fundraiser Dinner – 21^st October 2023

The fundraiser dinner dance took place at the Castaway Restaurant/Event Center in Burbank, attracting over 415 guests. The event was scheduled from 7:00 PM to 01:00 AM. The guest artist was Falan Andrea from Sri Lanka, accompanied by the Heat Beat group, while Sanje Sedara served as the compere.

The event was co-hosted by Lucky Rajasinghe and Rakshita Dissanayake. Due to Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, the organization was unable to host the fundraiser dinner in 2021, under the presidency of Rakshita.

The day’s activities included several music and dance sessions, a silent auction, raffle draws, and door prize drawings. Additionally, DJ Leo from Canada performed alongside the Heat Beat group.

The main dance committee comprised Col. Lucky Rajasinghe, Rakshita Dissanayake, Dilash De Silva, Squadron Leader Rahim Mantara, Dr. Nalaka Gunawardana, Chaminda Dabare, Dr. Deepthi Jayasekara, Dr. Lasika Seneviratne, Jeevaka Weerasinghe, Nalin Kulasooriya, Sanje Sedara Pradeep Gunaratne and Samantha Arambegedara.

Special appreciation goes to General Secretary Squadron Leader Rahim Mantara (Rtd) for his coordination of all aspects of the event.

There were also several sub committees that worked together to make the event a success.

A special appreciation notes are extended to Roshi Dabare, Dilky Dissanayake and Shanez Rajasinghe for their tireless efforts in working with various committees to organize the day’s events.

We also want to thank Sanje Sedara for his innovative approach to managing the event, which contributed to a fun-filled evening while successfully raising essential funds for children in Sri Lanka.
