Ananda vs. Nalanda Cricket match – July 12^th 2014

We are absolutely elated to have brought back the Ananda-Nalanda Cricket Match after several years of hiatus! Overcoming numerous challenges, particularly the inactivity of the Nalanda Old Boys Association, this long-awaited event blossomed into a vibrant celebration of camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Both teams reveled in the spirit of the day, and we were deeply honored to welcome the Honorable Member of Parliament and our distinguished alumnus, Arjuna Ranatunga, a World Cup-winning cricket captain, as our esteemed chief guest. Arjuna’s presence was a highlight, as he and his family dedicated the afternoon to engaging with fans, sharing stories, and presenting awards to the victorious players, thereby enriching the experience and creating cherished memories for everyone in attendance.

To further enhance the festivities, two fantastic Sri Lankan vendors set up stalls offering an array of delectable short eats and satisfying lunches for our spectators. The tempting aromas wafting through the air added to the delightful atmosphere, ensuring that all who attended not only enjoyed the thrilling matches but also indulged in a culinary feast. It was truly a remarkable day filled with joy, excitement, and unforgettable moments!
